Bhubaneswar: An elderly couple died after the car they were travelling by crashed against a roadside tree in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
According to the police, the accident occurred on Tuesday evening in Raikia town when the couple was returning home from Berhampur railway station after dropping their daughter there.
Initially, the couple was admitted to a local hospital but later shifted to the Kandhamal District Headquarters Hospital as their condition was critical. They succumbed at the Kandhamal DHH.
The deceased were identified as Subash Singh, a retired administrative officer, and his wife Nalini Nayak was a school teacher.
