Bhubaneswar: The depression over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean is likely to intensify further into a Deep Depression during the next 24 hours but has no impact over Odisha, stated the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.
As per the latest weather bulletin, the depression lay about 420 km south-southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 760 km south-southeast of Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu), 820 km south-southeast of Puducherry (Tamil Nadu), and about 900 km south-southeast of Chennai (Tamil Nadu) at 0830 hrs IST of today.
It is likely to intensify further into a Deep Depression during the next 24 hours. It is likely to move northwestwards along and off the east coast of Sri Lanka towards the north Tamil Nadu Coast during the next 48 hours.
The above system has no impact over Odisha. Dry weather is very likely to prevail across the State for the next five days. There will be no large change in maximum and minimum temperature during the next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
