Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday conducted simultaneous raids on the houses and property of Ramesh Chandra Sahu, Principal of Maa Heera Neela College in Biswanathpur of Kalahandi district, on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets.
Separate teams of the anti-corruption agency led by 6 DSPs, 4 Inspectors, and other staff, on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna, conducted searches at the following places in Khordha and Kalahandi district.
1. Residential house at plot no SB-07 at Arya Palli, Dumduma Housing Board Colony, Bhubaneswar.
2. Residential house located at Biswanathpur, Lanjigarh, Kalahandi.
3. Crusher Unit at Khordha.
4. Crusher Unit at Pokharibandh, near Biswanathpur, Kalahandi.
5. Office room of Sahu at Heera Neela College, Biswanathpur, Kalahandi.
Recently, Sahu had been booked in four cases in Kalahandi for cheating local people by taking money by promising jobs in the college. Details as under:
1. Biswanathpur PS Case No 54 Dt 7.7.2021 U/S- 420/406/294/506 IPC
For taking Rs. 2,50,000/- from the complainant for Peon post.
2. Biswanathpur PS Case No 67 Dt 27.8.2021 U/S- 420/406/294/506 IPC
For taking Rs 1,70,000/- from the complainant for Sweeper post.
3. Biswanathpur PS Case No 70 Dt 31.8.2021 U/S- 420/406/294/506 IPC
For taking Rs 2,75,000/- from the complainant for Peon post.
4. Lanjigarh PS Case No 64 Dt 26.8.2021 U/S- 420/406/294/506 IPC
For taking Rs. 2,50,000/- from the complainant for Peon post.
Sahu was arrested and forwarded to Court in this cheating case. Also, on orders of Sub Collector, Bhawanipatna, a committee comprising four members had conducted an enquiry in August 2021 and found the involvement of Sahu in a series of financial irregularities in the College.
