Puri: The police have identified the person involved in the incident of the ransacking of clay ovens at the Rosa Ghara (Jagannath Temple kitchen) on the basis of CCTV footages. The man has been detained, Puri police Tweeted.
On Tuesday evening, the district police informed about the development. “The suspect has been identified in CCTV footage andhas just now been detained. Further interrogation is underway,” Puri police tweeted on Tuesday evening.
As many as 40 clay ovens or Chullahs of the Rosa Ghara were destroyed on Saturday night. Chief Secretary and DGP were rushed to Puri on the directions of the Chief Minister to review the investigation in this case.
Suprintendent of Police Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh said, “The said accused person has been detained from Khurda district. Other details are withheld as of now. Further details would be provided in due course.”
