Bhubaneswar: The postmortem report of BJB college student Ruchika Mohanty, who allegedly committed suicide on July 2, revealed that she had died of asphyxia due to hanging.
However, her samples have been sent for viscera examination, to collect more details regarding her death.
Ruchika was a student of Plus III, Arts at BJB Autonomous College here. She was staying on campus in one of the ladies’ hostels of the institution. Her body was recovered from the hostel on Saturday.
In a suicide note, she had stated that she was ending her life after being fed up with mental harassment by three senior girl students.
Police has till date recorded the statement of around 100 girl students but is yet to identify the three accused. A team of Commissionerate Police has also visited her village for further investigation.
