Bhubaneswar: While the investigation into the suicide of BJB Autonomous College student Ruchika Mohanty by the Commissionerate Police is underway, it still remains clueless on who were the senior students responsible for causing mental harassment that led her to take the extreme step.
Sources said in the meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has interrogated around 200 persons in this connection but the result is a big zero.
Now some senior girl students of the college are under the Commissionerate Police’s scanner, the sources revealed and added that the case is likely to be solved soon.
However, after Ruchika’s autopsy report has come out, samples of her viscera have been sent for further forensic examination, the sources added.
Before hanging herself in Room no. 221 of Karubakki Hostel of BJB Autonomous College last Saturday, Ruchika had purportedly written a suicide note in which she had mentioned mental torture by three senior girl students had exceeded all limits and she doesn’t want to live.
Despite the lapse of five days since Ruchika committed suicide, the three senior girl students who had allegedly tortured her are yet to be identified and caught.
On the other hand, demanding justice for Ruchika, several students’ organisations, parents and siblings have taken to agitation.
