Bhubaneswar: Members of different organisations gathered at Lower PMG area in the Capital City on Sunday, demanding fulfillment of their ‘long standing’ demands. According to reports, hundreds of members of Anganbadi, United Primary Teachers Maha Sangh, Odisha Amla Sangh carried out a protest here raising slongans in favour of their demands.
Several platoons force deployed on MG Road prevented the protesters from marching forward towards the Assembly, which is in session. The protesters alleged that the State Government has not fulfilled their demands even after a number protests in the past.
Some of their demands included regularization of jobs and benefits like compensation after accident, employees provident fund (EPF), employees state insurance scheme (ESI) and pension. “Despite repeated pleas, the Government has turned a deaf ear to our demands. Our agitation will continue,” the protesters said.
