Berhampur: Excise officials today seized one quintal of contraband ganja from a car at Punji Kainya Chhak of Digapahandi in Ganjam district and arrested a youth in this connection.
The accused has been identified as Sabiul Islam (19) of Murshidabad district in West Bengal. Excise officials have also seized the car in which the ganja was being transported. Excise officials have estimated the value of the seized property at Rs 20 lakh.
The seized ganja was being smuggled from Gajapati district to West Bengal via Berhampur.
