Balasore: In a tragic incident, Babu Das, a resident of Tilada village in Khaira block of Odisha’s Balasore district, tried to commit suicide unable to endure the death of his wife Meena Das in an accident after a domestic fight. While Meena died on the spot on Monday, Babu breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Khaira Medical Center on Tuesday.
According to reports, Babu and his wife Meena were living a quiet life in Tilada village for over 10 years. On Monday, Babu returned home in an inebriated state and this led to a quarrel between the husband and wife. During the course of the verbal dual, an angry Babu pushed Meena whose head hit a wooden pole and she fell unconscious. She was rushed to the Khaira Medical Center, where the doctors declared her brought dead.
Shocked over the death of his wife, Babu slipped into depression and consumed poison on Monday with the intention to end his life. Neighbours admitted him to Khaira Medical Center where he succumbed to his condition on Wednesday.
