Keonjhar: The body of a young woman was found hanging from a tree near her home at Tentalapasi village under Pandapada police station in Keonjhar district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Meera Nayak, daughter of Dashratha Nayak, a resident of the Tentalapasi.
According to reports, Meera’s body was found hanging from a tree with severe injuries.
Police suspect the deceased was sexually assaulted before being killed and staged to appear as a suicide by hanging. The accused is believed to have fled the scene, leaving behind his clothes.
Upon being informed, Pandapada police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Police are working to identify the perpetrator. A thorough investigation is underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.
