Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of Puri, Khordha, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts during the next three hours, said the latest communique issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) Regional Centre here today.
The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the aforementioned districts.
Further, gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 km per hour is likely in some parts of Jajpur and Bhadrak districts during the same period till 7.30 PM.
Under its impact minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, Minor damage to Banana trees. Some damage to standing crops may occur.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly and especially to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
