Bhubaneswar: Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore Tuesday sentenced Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) of Kundura in Koraput district Narayan Chandra Golari to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a period of two years after convicting him in a bribery case.
The Court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Golari and ruled that in default of payment of the fine, he has to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months.
According to an official press release issued by the Vigilance, Golari ex-In-Charge Revenue Inspector of Haradput at present posted as ARI Kundura was charge-sheeted by Vigilance in a case of May 23, 2014, under section 7 of the PC Act for demanding and accepting illegal gratification from the complainant to submit enquiry report for issuance of caste, residence and income certificate in favour of his daughter.
Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the dismissal of Golari from service following his conviction, the release added.
