Baripada:  A doctor at the Baisinga Primary Health Center, narrowly escaped an accident when the ceiling of the hospital building fell on his seat due to thunderstorm under the influence of Kalabaisakhi in Mayurbhanj district.

Dr. Bikas Nayak was attending to patients when the storm hit, and he quickly got up from his seat and ran to safety just before the ceiling collapsed.

The severe Kalabaisakhi struck the Baisinga area in Mayurbhanj on Saturday evening, causing widespread destruction. The storm brought strong winds and heavy rain, resulting in houses being blown down and trees uprooted on roadsides.

The Baisinga Primary Health Centre has been in a state of disrepair, despite repeated requests from locals and promises from people’s representatives. Locals have expressed concern that the hospital’s condition could lead to a serious accident, resulting in loss of life.

The thunderstorm caused significant damage to the hospital and surrounding areas.
