Bhubaneswar: It was sizzling hot in Odisha today with at least five places in the state registering a day temperature of 40°C and above by 2.30 PM.
Jharsuguda was the hottest place and recorded a temperature of 42.0°C followed by Sambalpur 41.8°C, Bhubaneswar 40.2°C, Chandbali & Hirakud 40.0°C, Keonjhar 38.0°C, Balasore 36.4°C
Gopalpur 33.2°C, Puri 33.2°C and Paradip 32.4°C, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Due to prevailing Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is likely to be more than 40°C and above normal by 3 to 5°C at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 2 days, the IMD added.
