Bhubaneswar: Secretary to CM(5T) VK Pandian who is on a visit to Kendrapara district at the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the second day of his tour on Friday reviewed the progress of various developmental works and advised to expedite those.
Pandian today took steps for the development of some temples and mutts of Kendrapara district. He visited the Laxmi Varaha Temple of Demala in Aul, the Jagannath Temple at Keredagada, Baya Baba Mutt, etc., and discussed with temple committee members, local citizens, and disciples at the mutts on the peripheral development and beautification of the institutions. He directed the Collector to immediately prepare DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) of these projects.
Later, Pandian visited a resettlement project at Bagapatia village under Satabhaya gram panchayat. People who have resettled here have built a Panchu Barahi Temple. He directed for further beautification of the temple.
The 5T Secretary met the representatives and students of various government and government-aided colleges of the district at the Kendrapara district Sanskruti Bhawan. He directed the Collector to prepare reports on the individual need for infrastructure and other facilities of each and every college and place proposals accordingly.
The 5T Secretary also reviewed the progress of under-construction spur work at Bhatpada in Rajnagar Block along with other developmental works. He urged the local engineers to immediately implement the repair work of the Keredagada -Alatanga saline embankment on the south bank of the Hansua River.
He visited the Community Health Centres (CHCs) of Rajkanika and Rajnagar blocks and discussed various facilities, patient care system, and other matters with the departmental officials, patients, and their families and suggested providing more facilities to the patients. Pandian expressed his happiness over the two CHCs being awarded Kayakalp awards.
The 5T Secretary also visited the medical canteen run by Maa Mangal Self Help Group in the CHC at Aul. He discussed with the members of the SHG group, how they are preparing food and enquired about how much profit they are making. He advised them to provide more nutritious and healthy food to the patients.
Pandian also visited a football stadium in Aul. He expressed happiness that the stadium played a major role in creating four national-level players. He asked the Collector to prepare a project report for further improvement of this stadium.
He also visited Taras High School and Badapalli High School; both schools have been transformed during the second phase of the 5T High School Transformation programme. He interacted with the teachers, students, parents, and members of the school management committees about the various facilities at the schools.
The 5T Secretary also met the students of various colleges of the district at Sanskruti Bhavan and discussed the development of their colleges.
Special Secretary to CM, R Vineel Krishna, Kendrapara Collector, and officials of other departments were present during the 5T Secretary’s visit.
