Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for six districts in Odisha, predicting heavy rains today.

The affected districts include Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Balasore. According to the IMD, the rain is expected to continue for the next three days.

A fresh cyclonic storm is likely to form over the Gangetic West Bengal basin by July 16 and is expected to move west-northwestwards for the next 3-4 days after formation. Cloudy weather prevailed in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Sunday.

Residents in the affected districts are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
