Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph are very likely to be experienced in at least 12 districts Odisha during the next 24 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department forecast (IMD) read.
These districts are Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal , Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Ganjam.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Boudh, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput.
The IMD further issued an alert of hailstorms, very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. A yellow warning has been issued for the next 24 hours for these districts.
As per the IMD, during the same time period, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm are very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
