Malkangiri: Two people went missing while returning from a wedding party after the boat they were travelling by capsized in a river beside Sindiguda village in the Swaviman area of Malkangari district on Tuesday evening.
The two missing persons have been identified as Sajit Kidinga and Balaram Kidinga of Dindiguda village in the district. Both the missing persons are said to be minors.
According to the report, Sajit and Balaram along with others were returning to their village from Padalput village in Andhra Pradesh by boat after attending a wedding party in Padalput village in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The boat reportedly capsized due to being overweight.
On being informed, the Fire Services personnel reached the spot and rescued three people with the help of the locals. However, they could trace Sajit and Balaram.
Rescue operations are underway as both are still missing. The Khairput fire department team and Mudulipada police are continuing the rescue operation at the spot.
