Bhubaneswar: The scorching heat across Odisha intensified on Sunday affecting normal life. The day temperature in Jharsuguda soared to 41.8°C at 11.30 am today, while the humidity level crossed 80 per cent in most regions of the state.
Keonjhar was the second hottest place in the state at 39.2°C, while Bhubaneswar was a close third with 38.2°C before noon today. The temperatures recorded at other centers in Odisha at 11.30 am today are as below:
- Sambalpur: 37.6°C
- Baltimore: 37.2°C
- Chandbali: 37°C
- Hirakud: 36.4°C
- Puri: 36°C
- Gopalpur: 35.4°C
- Paradip: 34°C
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there will be no significant change in the day temperature (maximum temperature) in the state during the next three to four days. In most places the day temperature will be above 3°C to 4°C.
People have been advised not to go outside between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm unless not avoidable and to take necessary precautions to avoid heatwaves.
