Stage Set For Lord Jagannath’s Annual Sojourn To Gundicha Temple

Puri: Preparation for Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings at Puri is in its final stages. Lakhs of devotees have already arrived in the Pilgrim town to witness the grand spectacle-the Gundicha Yatra (the onward leg of the nine-day sojourn).

Pahandi-the step-by-step movement of the deities from the temple to the majestic chariots one by one is scheduled to commence at 9.30 AM tomorrow.

The pulling of chariots to the Gundicha temple is scheduled to start at 4.00 PM.

According to information shared by the Niti (Rituals) Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Mangala Alati of the deities will be held at tomorrow 6 AM, Mailam at 6.10 AM, Tadapa Lagi and Rosha Homa at 6.30 AM, Surjya Puja at 7.10 AM after Abakash, Dwarapala Puja and Besha Sesha at 7.30 AM.

Similarly, Gopala Ballava and Sakala Dhoop (Khechudi Bhoga) will be held between 8 AM to 9 AM, Mangalarpan at 9.15 AM. After completion of Pahandi Bije of Shree Shree Madan Mohan, Shree Shree Rama, and Shree Krushna will be held from 12.30 PM to 1 PM, Chita Lagi and Besha Sesha will be completed between 1.30 PM to 2.30 PM, Chhera Pahanra will be held between 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM, Charamala Phita, Ghoda and Sarathi Lagi from 3 PM to 4 PM.
