Bhubaneswar: The Secretary-level meeting of the state administration was held today in the conference room of Kharbela Bhawan. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena.
Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Commissioners and Secretaries of various departments of the state government including Member of Board of Revenue and Director General of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration Raj Kumar Sharma, Development Commissioner Anu Garg were present in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nuapada district which has achieved high success in the field of tap water supply among aspiring districts in the country under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’was given a certificate.
On this occasion, Sachin Ramachandra Yadav, Director of Tourism, and Hemkant Rai, District Collector of Nuapada, received the certificate from the Chief Secretary.
Among the various agendas presented in the meeting, Sharma, Director General of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, announced the modernization of various training processes in the academy and highlighted the need for training for government officials, engineers and employees. Training for newly recruited officers in various departments and training for noting and drafting skills for Section Officers, Desk Officers, Departmental Officers and Sub-Departmental Officers and Under Secretaries as well as training for senior officers on Corporate Guidelines and Company Law were discussed.
On the other hand, the construction of two hostels and improvement of infrastructure in Gopabandhu Academy of Administration were discussed in the meeting. Secretaries of all departments have been asked to send proposals regarding training requirements in their departments as soon as possible.
In the meeting, the Finance Department presented the approval of the state budget for the financial year 2023-24 as of June and the expenditure incurred so far.
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized speeding up the work as per the target and utilization of funds. The meeting also emphasized on utilization of the special assistance grants received by the state from the Centre in various fields.
Similarly, in the context of the promotion of social welfare programs by various departments of the state government, a detailed discussion was held in relation to the information, education and communication system and public awareness programs by folk artists, conducted by the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture.
Also, in the meeting, a proposal was presented by the department in relation to promoting the export of MSME products through e-commerce portal as a transformational step by MSMEs. Similarly, measures related to efficient utilization of energy capacity by conserving electricity in government offices, capacity building and administrative reforms required in the technical education department.
In the meeting, it was emphasized that the Secretaries should pay attention to the cases that could not be resolved in the process of public grievance hearing in different districts and departments.
Similarly, taking into account the pending pension cases in various departments, expedited decisions, and steps to be taken to fill up various vacant posts were also discussed in the meeting. In addition, under the Socio-Economic Change Improvement Project (Setu) in Malkangari district, it was emphasized to speed up the ongoing programs of various departments in the context of the development of ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ and development of the ‘KBK’ area.
