Bhubaneswar: Putting an end to the speculations over the death of Subhalaxmi Sahu whose body was recovered from a Bhubaneswar hotel on August 4, Bhubaneswar DCP Pratik Singh on Friday confirmed that the teenage student of Kamala Nehru Women’s College “died by suicide.”
The DCP also confirmed that the post-mortem and the probe report into her death confirmed that the girl died by suicide. At the same time, the DCP said that further investigation is underway to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.
Saying that there was nothing suspicious in her CDR, the DCP added that the police have questioned her family members to get an idea about her mental state. The DCP also said that no viral video regarding the deceased has been found and said, “If any such clip is found, we will analyse it.”
It is worth mentioning that, the phone of the deceased bar dancer Subhalaxmi was sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) in Bhubaneswar for further investigation.
However, the mystery continues to shroud the Instagram profile of the deceased as all her photos have been deleted after her death. Police are now trying to find who is handling Subhalaxmi’s Instagram account, which has been made private after her death.
Meanwhile, the State Women’s Commission has directed the Commissionerate Police to submit a detailed report within 15 days.
