Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha, the Indian Meteorological Department forecast revealed.
According to the IMD report, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts.
A yellow warning has been issued by the Met Department for the aforementioned districts in this connection.
Similarly, Capital City Bhubaneswar will witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain. Maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are very likely to be around 33 degrees and 25 degrees respectively.
The IMD bulletin further stated: “The western end of Monsoon Trough continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas and its eastern end at mean sea level now passes through Shahjahanpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Bankura and thence southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal. A trough runs from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Northeast Bay of Bengal between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level.”
