Mayurbhanj: Vikram Raut has brought glory to the Mayurbhanj district winning the gold medal at the National Bodybuilding Championship in Chennai.
A resident of Ward No. 23 in the Tekatpur area of the district, Vikram Raut participated in the national-level ICN Chennai Championship held in Chennai on Saturday. A total of 400 male and female contestants from different states of India participated in various categories of the championship.
Vikram won three medals in the competition displaying excellent fitness. He won two gold medals in Men’s Bodybuilding and Men’s Physique and a silver medal in Men’s Classic.
For the first time from Odisha, he got a Pro Card and was selected to participate in the championship. The award includes a medal and a cash amount of Rs. 50,000.
He had been preparing for the competition for the past four months working out for 2 to 3 hours a day. Vikram believes that the youth should prepare for fitness by exercising in a natural way and without taking any kind of steroids.
