Bhubaneswar: Mahendra Badhei, chairman of the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation, passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
According to sources, he was admitted to CARE Hospital two days ago and breathed his last around 10.30 pm yesterday.
A former OAS officer, Badhei joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) last year and played an important role in winning the Padampur by-election in December 2022.
Badhei’s mortal remains will be taken to Sankha Bhawan here around 7.30 a.m. on Friday for people to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
