Home Guard Dies Of Electrocution In Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A home guard was electrocuted while checking an electricity board at his home at Chhatramandal village under Gorumahisani police station here in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.

The deceased identified as Sankho Hembram (35) worked at local police station.

He came in contact with the live electricity while checking the board at around 1.30 pm. The incident took place in the absence of his wife and mother.

His mother first saw him lying on the floor and got electricity shock while trying to save him.

Later, she called the neighbours who rescued him and immediately shifted to Rairangpur hospital. However, doctors declared him dead.

Police seized the body and launched an inquiry. The body will be handed over to family after post-mortem tomorrow, police said.
