Baripada: In a shocking incident, a man bludgeoned his wife to death with a crowbar late on Monday night at Samaidihi village under Morada police limits in Mayurbhanj district following an altercation between the two.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Bhakta. Police have arrested the accused identified as Raju Bhakta.
According to reports, Raju and Laxmi of Tiansi village who were staying at the former’s paternal aunt’s place in Samaidihi had a quarrel over some issue. Late on Monday night while Laxmi was sleeping Raju crushed her head with a crowbar leading to her death instantaneously.
On being informed Betanoti SDPO Sudarshan Das, Morada police rushed to the spot and have launched an investigation into the matter.
Police on seizing Laxmi’s body have sent it to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital for post-mortem and have arrested Raju Bhakta.
