Bhubaneswar: Instruments worth around Rs 60 lakh have been stolen from laboratory of Capital Hospital on Tuesday night.
Involvement of security guards and sanitation workers in heist has been detected from CCTV footage.
“Some old and new instruments of our laboratory located in the ground floor have been stolen. The theft appears to have been committed by some of our uniformed employees with the help of an outsider. In the video footage they are seen to be carrying the instruments in a sack,” informed Dr Laxmidhar Sahu, Director of Capital Hospital.
Dr Sahu said that they have informed the police about the matter.
“We have also informed their employer who will be taking disciplinary action against them,” he added.
The Capital Hospital Director said that apart from the old instruments which were to be condemned, the newly procured instruments which were meant for installation would be worth around Rs 50-60 lakh.
Commissionerate Police sources have revealed that the thieves have been identified.
