School Clerk Caught Taking Bribe In Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: A clerk of a Government High School at Kabirpur in Jajpur district has been apprehended by vigilance while accepting bribe from a retired teacher to prepare pending arrear bills and pension papers.

Maheswar Samal was caught red-handed while receiving Rs 4,000 cash from the complainant. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused and seized, vigilance said.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Samal in Jajpur district from DA angle.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance registered a case under Section 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018.

The investigation against the accused clerk is in progress, vigilance sources added.
