Bhubaneswar: With the winter chill prevailing across Odisha, the mercury dropped below 10°C in more places in the state during the last 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while the night temperatures (minimum temperatures) dropped below 10°C in at least 16 places, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest place in Odisha recording a minimum temperature of 4.6°C.
Other places in the state where the nighttime temperature dropped below 10°C include Semiliguda (5.6°C), Phulbani (6°C), Kirei (7.1°C), Koraput (7.7°C), Keonjhar (7.8°C), Daringbadi (8°C), Angul (8.6°C), Bhawanipatna (8.6°C), Rourkela (8.7°C), Sundargarh (9°C), Nabarangpur (9°C), Sonepur (9.3°C), Jharsuguda (9.4°C), Ranitaal (9.4°C), and Chipilima (9.8°C).
There is unlikely to be any significant change in weather during the next 24 hours, the weather office said, adding that several places are likely to experience shallow to dense fog.
