Khurdha: A man was killed after a cable-laden truck was hit by another heavy vehicle from behind near Badakula under Balugann police limits in Khurdha district.
The deceased has been identified as Bruhaspati Mohanty. He died on the spot while three others also sustained critical injuries.
They have been admitted to a local hospital.
Police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem. Both the vehicles involved in the accident were also seized.
A case has been registered in this connection.
In a separate incident, four people were injured, one of them critically, after a car in which they were travelling collided with a truck on National Highway No 20 near Barigan under Ghashipura police station in Keonjhar district.
All the injured passengers in the car have been shifted to Cuttack for treatment.
All the injured belonging to a family are from Jagannathpur area of Banki in Cuttack District. The accident took place when they were going to Ghatagaon for Darshan of Goddess Tarini.
