Khurdha: In a fit of deep anguish and pain over the untimely demise of her husband, a woman allegedly died by suicide at Nuagaan near Jatani in Khurdha district on Sunday night.
The deceased woman, Suna Samantray broke down completely after the death of her husband Dillip Samantray. She ended her life by hanging herself inside the house on Sunday night two days after the death of her husband.
Jatani police rescued her from the closed room and immediately rushed to Jatani Community Health Centre where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police seized the body for post-mortem and started further investigation.
Her husband Dillip was undergoing treatment at Hi-tech Hospital in Bhubaneswar after being injured in an explosion during gas filling in air conditioner at the same hospital. He died during treatment on Friday.
Notably, Dillip, a resident of Bianga village near Jatani, had married Suna of Nuagaan two years ago. After his death, paternal family members took the grief-stricken Suna to their home at Nuagaan where she took the drastic step.
