Bhubaneswar: Three SOG jawans were injured in an IED blast in the Batepanga forest along the Boudh-Kandhama border in Odisha on Friday morning during a combing operation to find and destroy Maoist hideouts in the region.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off that some Maoist cadres had assembled in the forest, the jawans were conducting a search operation in the region. Boudh SP Raj Prasad said that the jawans were injured when an IED planted by Maoists exploded.
A team has been sent to the spot to rescue the injured jawans. Further reports are awaited.
