Sonepur: At least two Special Operation Group (SOG) jawans were injured when a landmine planted by the outlawed Maoist activists exploded during a combing operation inside Nalikumpha forest in Odisha’s Boudh district on Thursday.

According to reports, the blast occurred when the SOG jawans were conducting a combing operation inside the forest this morning. Around 30 jawans were combing the area on a tip-off that movements of Maoist cadres were noticed in the area.

The injured jawans were initially admitted to Kantamal Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir as their condition deteriorated. The two seriously injured jawans have been airlifted to Bhubaneswar for better medical facilities.
