Bhubaneswar: A social organisation, Nyaya Pain Ladhei Parivar (NPLP) filed a petition with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) seeking its intervention in the minor girl gang rape case of Madhupatna area in Cuttack district.
NPLP president Subrat Das filed the case (2582/2024) seeking stringent action against the culprits, better treatment to the victim and Rs 50 lakh compensation to the family of the girl.
A 7-year-old girl in Balisahi under Madhupatna police limits in Cuttack was allegedly gang-raped by unknown miscreants on Thursday evening.
The girl went to a shop on her cycle and fell on the road. She suffered injuries on her legs.
At that time, five miscreants took her to a forest area on the pretext of taking her to hospital and sexually abused her.
Later, the girl narrated the ordeal before her parents who admitted her to hospital.
A case has been registered at Madhupatna police station in this regard. The statement of the victim has also been recorded.
