Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has floated tender for the construction of Puri Sri Jagannath International Airport on PPP mode at an estimated cost of Rs 2,203 crore. The tender was invited by IDCO.
The bids will be submitted online from February 21. The technical bids will be opened on April 21, a notification issued by IDCO said.
The construction works are likely to be completed within 1,095 days.
The proposed Airport will be an international greenfield airport. The project will also be developed and managed by the AAI like others.
Last year, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) granted site clearance approval for the project.
The clearance was obtained exactly a year after the government submitted all requisites to the ministry seeking clearance to set up the airport in accordance with the Greenfield Airports (GFA) Policy, 2008
The airport will primarily serve the Puri region.
The international airport is to be built on 1,164 acres of land. Out of this, 68 acres of forest and 221.48 acres are private in Sipasarubali and Sandhapur under Brahmagiri tehsil, official sources said.
