Separate Road Mishaps Claim Five Lives In Sambalpur

Sambalpur:  Five persons died and three persons sustained severe injuries in two separate road mishaps in Sambalpur on Thursday night.

According to sources, two students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) died when the bike they were travelling in collided with a scooter in front of the Marichi Hostel of VSSUT. The accident left two others critically injured.

The deceased were identified as Ashirbad Rath, and Arakhita Sethi. The injured were admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research (VIMSAR), Burla.

In another accident, three persons died and two got injured when a bike and scooter had a collision at Chaunr Bridge under Town Police limits. The accident left Surjaya Agarwal, Krishna Agarwal of Khetarajpur dead on the spot and two others injured. The injured were rushed to VIMSAR where one of them died while undergoing treatment. The condition of the other one is stated to be critical.
