Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has started preparations for the Plus-2 practical and theory examinations to be held in 2027 and made CCTV surveillance mandatory in examination management hubs and centres.
The Council has directed all heads of higher secondary schools in the state to submit a report on the functioning of CCTV cameras installed at their examination centres. According to sources, CCTV has been made mandatory in the management hub, central superintendent’s office, examination halls and all laboratories of self-financing colleges to ensure transparency in the 2027 examinations. The Council headquarters, School and Mass Education Department and District Collector’s office will monitor the conduct of the examinations.
The Council has ordered installation of CCTV cameras by November 30. Where cameras are not installed, they should be installed immediately and where they are not functioning, they should be repaired. Question papers must be kept under camera surveillance as soon as they arrive.
Examination Controller Prashant Kumar Parida said those who have applied for new examination centres must ensure installation of CCTV in examination halls and centre superintendent’s rooms. The 2026 management hubs, examination centres and higher secondary schools that will become new examination centres will install DVR/NVR, Insta Cloud static IP address, Insta Cloud serial number and cameras.
They have been asked to furnish details including college name, college code, internet provider etc by November 30. Educational institutions failing to take steps within the stipulated time will have their examination centres, both theory and practical, cancelled and recommendations will be made to the state government for action.
