Bhubaneswar: Passenger trains will run on the Haridaspur-Paradip railway route from Tuesday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off the first MEMU train today online at a function in Chandikhol.
In the initial stage, the MEMU train will run from Paradip to Keonjhar. The first passenger train will run through Kendrapara district.
A trial run was conducted on this route last Sunday when an expert team of the Railway Safety Commission inspected the railway track in Kendrapara and conducted a trial run of a passenger train.
It is worth mentioning here that the first freight train ran on the Haridaspur-Paradip railway track in September 2020.
