Bhubaneswar: A special vigilance court in Berhampur sentenced two years rigorous imprisonment to a retired Junior Clerk at the office of RTA in Chhatrapur in Ganjam in disproportionate assets case.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Manoranjan Mishra failing which he would undergo three months more imprisonment for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988.
The vigilance had arrested Mishra in 2006 for possessing disproportionate assets to his known sources of income.
The vigilance will move the competent authority for stoppage of his pension following the conviction.
