3 Forest Personnel Injured After Van Hits Check Post In Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Three forest department personnel sustained critical injuries after a pick-up van fell 30 feet off the road after hitting a forest check post at Rajghat under Basta police limits in Balasore district.

The pickup van was heading towards West Bengal via Balasore. It lost control near the Rajghat and hit a check post of the forest department and fell about 30 feet off the road.

There were three forest department personnel at the checkpost when the accident took place. They are seriously injured. Basta Police and National Highway Patrol van rescued them and first admitted them to Basta health centre and later shifted them to Balasore district headquarters hospital.

The pick-up van driver fled the scene after the accident. Basta police launched an investigation. The pick-up van has been seized.
