Athagarh: A wild tusker trampled an old man to death in a village in Athagarh in Odisha’s Cuttack district in the wee hours of Wednesday. The gruesome incident was reported from Gurudijhatia in the district.
The victim has been identified as Tubur Khanka (65).
According to reports, Khanka had gone to Kantabandh village to watch jatra and on his way back to his village this morning he came face-to-face with a wild tusker that had entered the habitat in search of food.
On being informed, police and local Forest Department officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
