Bhubaneswar: Addl. Special Judge, Vigilance-cum-ADJ-3, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday sentenced retired former Assistant Engineer Kartikeswar Padhy and Junior Engineer Pramod Kumar Sethy both of Bhapur block in Nayagarh district to 3 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 20,000 each after convicting them for misappropriating government money by executing sub-standard CC road works under Bhapur block.
In default of payment of fine the convicts have to undergo RI for 6 months more each.
The Court further sentenced them to 4 months RI and pay a fine of Rs 5000 each.
In default of payment of fine the convicts have to undergo RI for 2 months more.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Kartikeswar Padhy, Ex-Asst. Engineer (Retired) and dismissal of Pramod Kumar Sethy, Junior Engineer from service following their conviction.
