Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced six more candidates for Odisha Assembly elections.
“The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided on the following names for the ensuing Legislative Assembly elections 2024 for the state of Odisha,” the party said in a statement while releasing the list of candidates.
In the 5th list of candidates, the party has nominated famous gynaecologist Dr Purnachandra Mohapatra from Cuttack-Barabati seat while Dr Shambhunath Rout will contest from Ghasipura.
Asish Patra and Sudhansu Nayak got the ticket to contest from Bhograi and Bhandaripokhari segments respectively.
The BJP named Umesha Chandra Jena for Bari Assembly constituency while Prakash Chandra Ranabijuli has been fielded from Begunia seat.
Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Odisha will be held simultaneously in four phases on May 13, 20, 25 and June 1.
