Berhampur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday exuded confidence saying that the BJP is coming to power in Odisha after the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. Addressing a huge election rally near Kanishi Chowk in Odisha’s Berhampur, he said a BJP Chief Minister would take oath in the state capital Bhubaneswar on June 10. “Today, I am here to invite all of you to the swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP Chief Minister in Odisha,” he told the gathering.
He began his address chanting “Jai Jagannath, Jai Jagannath, Jai Shree Ram, Jai Bharatmata ki jai”. “Yesterday I visited Ram Lalla in Ayodhya and today I have come to Jagannath’s land for your blessings,” he said.
In the same breath, Prime Minister Modi said, “June 4 (election result day) would be the ‘expiry date’ of the Biju Janata Dal government in Odisha. The BJP’s Chief Ministerial face will be announced on June 4,” the Prime Minister added.
The days of the BJD government in Odisha are over. Congress is already finished and now the BJP has emerged as the rising sun in Odisha,” PM Modi said.
Claiming that Odisha will have a ‘double engine’ government for the first time, PM Modi said, I thank the Odisha BJP for releasing a good manifesto as it will benefit everyone – farmers, youth, elderly and women.” “I must remind you that what the BJP says, it does. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he added.
“Odisha has plenty of water, fertile land, and mineral resources. So why are the people of Odisha still so poor?” Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the gathering.
