Bhubaneswar: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Anjani Soren today filed nominations for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Mayurbhanj parliamentary constituency.
Daughter of JMM founder Sibu Soren and sister of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Anjani is contesting polls from Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha seat as well as the Sarasakana Assembly constituency in Odisha.
Anjani will face off against BJP’s Naba Charan Majhi and BJD’s Sudam Marndi, a current minister in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet
Anjani is a daughter-in-law of Mayurbhanj. The Odisha president of JMM, Anjani had unsuccessfully contested from Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha seat in 2019. She remained in the third position with over 1.35 lakh votes.
She said that she has descended on the electoral polls to fight for the rights of tribals.
