Bhubaneswar: A student of Berhampur University died by suicide in her hostel room on Saturday.
The woman student, identified as Mamali Bisoyi was a second-year PG student.
The reason of suicide has not been ascertained. Gopalpur police seized the body and sent for post-mortem before launching an investigation.
She was staying in room No-203 in Chilika hostel of the university. Her friends said that she attended classes on Friday. In the evening, the door of his room remained closed for a long time.
Sensing trouble, her friends informed the hostel superintendent and other staff. Fellow students also informed the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door only to find her hanging from the ceiling fan of the room.
The police have seized the body and sent it for autopsy. Gopalpur police has conducted an investigation from various angles.
