Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and Chancellor Raghubar Das on Monday appointed Professor Manas Ranjan Sahoo as the Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University of Health Sciences.
“Head of the Department of General Surgery at AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, Professor Sahoo was appointed as the VC of Odisha University of Health Sciences for a period of four years from the date on which he assumes the charge or till he attains the age of 70 years under sub-section (6) of section 9 of OUHS Act, 2021 or until further orders,” read a notification issued by the Governor.
Sahoo has pursued fellowship in Surgical Gastroenterology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai, after completing post-graduation in surgery. He has teaching experience of more than 26 years and 6 years in professor and equivalent post. He also has held administrative experience as a professor and Head of the Department of General Surgery at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and as Chairman of its Medical Board.
