Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience another heat spell from Tuesday, the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar said today. According to the weather office, the day temperatures (maximum temperature) are likely to rise by 3°C to 5°C during the next three to four days.
The IMD wrote on its X handle, “The maximum temperature (day temperature) likely to rise by 3°C-5°C during the next 3 to 4 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.” However, it is unlikely that heatwave conditions will return shortly.
At the same time, some places in the state are likely to receive scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers during this period.
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in one or two places including Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha on Tuesday. Similarly, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in one or two places in Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Bargarh, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha on Wednesday, the IMD said.
Meanwhile, many places in Odisha received moderate rainfall due to the impact of Severe Cyclone ‘Remal’.
