Bhubaneswar: Hot and humid condition is likely to continue for the next five days in Odisha even as the southwest Monsoon has made further advance.
“The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passes through 19.5°N/60°E, 19.5°N/65°E, 19.0°N/70°E, Thane, Ahmednagar, Beed, Nizamabad, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram, 19.5°N/88°E, 21.5°N/89.5°E, 23°N/89.5°E and Islampur,” an IMD bulletin Stated.
Most of the places are likely to witness thunderstorm and lightning in the next couple of days. Similarly, humid condition is likely to continue simultaneously.
Light to Moderate Rainfall has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Gajapati, Bargarh, Rayagada, Koraput and Mayurbhanj of South Odisha and North Interior Odisha and dry weather prevailed over the districts of North Coastal Odisha.
The maximum temperatures observed appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, marked rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 40.5°C was recorded at Sambalpur and the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0°C was recorded at Boudh in the plains of Odisha.
